Today I am sharing with you my great grandmother’s recipe. It has been a perfect side dish in our family for the last 4 generations, and today we share it with you.

She updated this great recipe in the later years of her life to use frozen hash browns instead of fresh potatoes like they used when she was younger.

But that is one modern convenience update that makes perfect sense.

You could bake or boil potatoes, let them cool, shred them, and then use them in this recipe. Or you could buy packaged shredded hash browns that are already prepped for you and use them in this recipe.

That makes it easy with just minutes of prep time without giving up any flavor.

Frozen hash browns are fresh, perfectly cut, and never soggy. They are the best way to get perfect and easy potatoes in this recipe.

Whether you serve these cheesy potatoes for breakfast, brunch, or as a side dish for dinner, this dish is always a hit.
